I used the motech alurack and Givi adapter on my V-Strom. Really pleased, I went this way as not only is it stronger than just a Givi mounting plate. Also mounts the topboxs about an inch further back than the Givi brand mount does. So not only more room for the pillion. Less likely to scrape the topbox with your boot when you put a leg over. When you take the adapter plate ( easy 3 quick turn screws) there is a nice flat plate with cutouts to hook occi straps into. There is always the option of purchasing adapters for other brands of topbox if you need to. I like it and motorradgarage have been great to buy from, Thanks.
